This is a Summary Score, which summarises the results of many individual tests.

What does it summarise?

The overall quality of the website: how well it is built and maintained. This includes the quality of writing (spelling, readability) and how well written the code is ‘behind the scenes’.

Why is it important?

This test is useful to evaluate the quality of the website, particularly to evaluate whether something has been built 'well'.

For example, code quality is essential invisible to non-technical users (and difficult to measure even for technical experts). The Quality Score can help provide an at-a-glance summary of how well these invisible but important factors compare between websites. For example, is the quality of your site improving in subsequent revisions?
