What does it do?

Lists the most important pages in a site. Pages are rated according to how many times they are linked to by other pages in the website.

Why is it important?

This test can be useful for:

  • Ensuring your internal link building is correct.
  • Identifying what pages currently receive the focus of attention for SEO internally.
  • Ensuring these pages have appropriate, clean URLs.
  • Ensuring these URLs are maintained after a site upgrade. They are essentially the 'most important' pages in a site, and their URLs are usually worth preserving where possible.

Example results

Note that in this example web addresses have been concealed.

How is it measured?

The number of links from each tested page to each other tested page is counted. Pages are ranked in descending order of how many internal links they receive.

How to use this test effectively

This test is most useful as part of a manual SEO overview, particularly for internal link building.
